| Beskrivelse | Microplastics, tiny plastic particles less than 5 mm in size, are omnipresent in the environment. But how much is really out there and how do we analyse microplastics in environmental samples? Understanding how much microplastics are in the ocean is crucial for protecting marine life and human health, but it´s not an easy task.
In the talk, we will explore the challenges scientists face in measuring microplastics. We´ll discuss how these particles are collected, identified, and quantified, and why it´s difficult to get accurate numbers. We´ll also look at the surprising places microplastics are found and the innovative methods researchers are using to tackle this global issue. By the end of this talk, you´ll have a better understanding of the complexities of microplastics analysis and the importance of protecting our oceans from the plastic pollution.
